• First Aid 4 Day Course

A 4-day HSE Approved course leading to a First Aid Certificate, which is valid for three years.

• Carry out the resuscitation procedures competently
• Deal with a bleeding casualty
• Be aware of the dangers of medical shock and know how to deal with it
• Know how to manage an unconscious casualty
• Be able to treat a range of minor injuries and ailments and be able to recognise signs of illness
• Be aware of the necessary and legal contents of a first aid box and how to organise the purchase of first aid supplies
• Know how to treat casualties with injuries to bones, muscles and joints and how to safely transport casualties if required
• Be able to deal with eye injuries and how to deal with a casualty who has been poisoned either deliberately or accidentally
• Be able to communicate confidently in the event of a medical emergency and know the importance of good and accurate record keeping

All H.S.E. Certificates must be renewed within 3 years.
