Your journey to becoming a qualified chef starts here

You will learn on the job and the training will take roughly 12 months to complete.

You will earn a salary and work within a kitchen team. Your training assessor will schedule visits to assess you in the workplace.

There are mandatory modules and optional modules to select to complete the qualification.

The qualification is made up of the following areas

  • Prepare, Cook and Finish Basic Rice, pasta, pulses, plant-based, egg & Grain Dishes

  • Prepare, Cook and Finish Basic Pastry Products, Cakes, Sponges, Biscuits and Scones, Cold and Hot Desserts

  • Prepare, Cook and Finish Basic Sauces and Dressings, Make Basic Stocks & soups

  • Cleaning Areas

  • Cleaning Equipment

  • Complete Kitchen Records

  • Cook-Chilled Food

  • Cook-Freeze Food

  • Maintain an Efficient Use of Resources in the Kitchen

  • Maintaining Health, Safety and Security

  • Modify Dishes to Meet the Specific Nutritional Needs of Individuals
